Espino is an exciting young black Hanoverian stallion recently imported from Germany. He brings to the American
market a dynamic pedigree that
represents some of the finest bloodlines available for both breeding and sport.
His attributes are the same caliber, elegant conformation with a gorgeous head
and neck, a quiet and friendly
disposition, superior movements along with a spectacular form over fences. Espino is by the immensely popular jumper stallion Escudo I, winner of his stallion testing, awarded the "Freiherr von Stenglin" prize and also competed and won up to "S" level. Escudo I's produce record is impressive, he has 23 approved sons with a breeding index of 149 in showjumping and 148 for typeness making him one of the leading Hanoverian sires. Escudo I also ranked 4th on the USEF Leading Hunter Sire's list in 2005 with only four horses listed. Espino's dam is by the "Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2004" Graf Grannus who's offspring are sought after for their excellent jumping technique and scope. So far his progeny have earned nearly E 300,000 in competition and he is the sire of 20 licensed stallions. Graf Grannus is considered to be the best son of Grannus who became an icon of showjumpers with progeny earnings over 5 million DM, seven Olympic horses and 60 approved stallions! Espino's pedigree also includes the enormously influential dressage sire Woermann who appears twice with progeny earnings of 278,000 DM. Espino's 3/4 brother, Export who is currently standing at Gestuet Famos in Germany, received the Winergy Prize for best Showjumping Stallion at the 2004 Hanoverian Approvals in an exceptionally high quality group of horses. In 2006 Export went on and won the Hanoverian Show Jumping Championships for five year olds. Espino is registered and branded with the German Verband and pending approval for breeding with the Purebred Hanoverian Assoc. His first foal crop arrived this spring and they all exhibit exceptional quality. Take a look at them on the foal page. Studfee: $1250.- DVD available |
