Gaylord has correct conformation with a very pleasing and friendly disposition. He is an elastic ground covering mover with lots of suspension along with a tremendous talent over a fence, making him an excellent sire for both dressage and jumping.
Gaylord is a proven sire. With limited breeding, he was used as a private stallion up until *96, he has offspring competing successfully in dressage, showjumping and eventing. Several are currently showing on the A-circuit earning Championships and Reserves with top ribbons in both over fences and under saddle. Gaylord stamps his foals with elegance, movements and kind temperaments.
Gaylord's dam Walpurgis, who loose jumped extraordinary before she came to Calveslage stud, is a daughter of Wettstreit. Wettstreit's sire Wedekind is considered to be one of the best sons of Ferdinand. Ferdinand is a leading sire on Germany's Eternal Top Ten Sires list with progeny earings of over 1.5 million DM. His offspring have been noted for their athletic abilities and enormous willingness to perform. Ferdinand is one of the few stallions to sire Olympic gold medal winners in both showjumping and dressage.
